Flood Response Search & Rescue Training
As members of SLSGB, Technical Water Rescue – IOW receive the best and highest standards in training before being signed off as competent and ready for operations duties. Below is an outline of the training you will receive at a basic level.
The SAR flood training is undertaken by SLSGB’s own in-house dedicated, expert team to the highest standards. They have independent accreditation, are fully compliant with the DEFRA Concept of Operations (this is the standard we also operate to) and have invaluable input and guidance from world leading emergency response organisations. They are now acknowledged leaders in fast water response training and provide vocational training at Water Incident Manager level. During training SLSGB use carefully selected locations and specialised resources to provide task relevant environments to achieve the highest possible professional standards.
Whilst compliance is important, we choose to achieve higher levels of competency to support our volunteers whilst working in dangerous flood rescue environments.
